Uzu and Muzu Children’s Concert

Saturday, April 13 – The Children’s Museum of Cleveland and CityMusic Cleveland present “Uzu & Muzu from Kakaruzu”, a musical parable about silly fights and peaceful solutions.  Avner Dorman’s magical musical adaptation of Ephraim Sidon’s famous story comes to life as children learn about new instruments, make drumsticks, build a wall together, and discover the truth about the MONSTER!  Three 30-minute shows will be performed on Saturday, April 13 at 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 1:30 pm.  Included FREE with paid Museum admission or membership!  Advance tickets NOT required.

Dino Dig Camp

Dino Dig -Aug 5 – 9

Become a Paleontologist!  Campers will practice observation and excavation skills, learn about extinction and uncover the mysteries of dinosaurs buried deep beneath the earth.  We’ll crack open rocks to search for dinosaur bones and discover how the dinosaurs lived.  We’ll even experience and create our own active volcanoes.

Community Helpers -July 29 – Aug 2

Learn about the people who make our community great! Each day campers will be inspired by a new community helper such as Police officers, Construction workers, Firefighters, Doctors and Librarian!  Using The Bridges to Our Community exhibit at The Children’s Museum campers will get to role play a variety of professions.  There will be a special guest every day to meet our campers and share their firsthand knowledge!

Fairytale Science

Fairytale Science -July 22 – 26

Bring your imagination and get ready for fairytale fun.  Your little prince or princess will make the story come alive with science experiments inspired by favorite fairytales like Cinderella, the Frog Prince, Jack and the Beanstalk and more.  Campers will turn pennies to gold, watch their giant beans grow and even catch “fairies” in a jar.

In My Own Backyard Camp

In My Own Backyard -July 15 – 19

There’s an exciting world to discover right outside our own back doors.  Become a Backyard Explorer this summer as we study bugs and insects, take nature “hikes” and dig in the dirt.  Campers will learn how to compost and start their own garden with a real local Farmer!  Get your hands dirty as we harvest herbs and vegetables from our garden to make a yummy snack!  We’ll also take a walking field trip to the Cleveland Botanical Gardens to play in the Hershey Children’s Garden.

Superhero Science Camp

Superhero Science – July 8 – 12

Calling all Superheroes for the adventure of the year!  We’ll use teamwork, creativity, science and expert problem solving to save The Children’s Museum from the mysterious Toy Thief!  Your Superheroes will expand their imaginations and crime fighting skills by learning how to dust for fingerprints, creating Super mobiles and designing their own costumes.

Join The Children’s Museum of Cleveland to celebrate our planet this Earth Day!  Families will learn about how to keep our environment healthy by recycling, water conservation and gardening.  THen we will head to the Children’s Museum garden and get it ready for spring!
