Magic Makers:
Shadow Puppets ~ 11:00 a.m. ~ Celebrate the reappearance of Abracadabra! Everyday
Magic. Learn how to become a magician while using simple, everyday math
and science! Card tricks, magnet play and exploding volcanoes are just a
few of the fun activities we’ll explore.
“Be a Builder!” Child Workshop ($)
~ 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. ~ Children ages 4-8 can join us for an
invention workshop to construct their own model car while learning how
balance, gravity, weight and shape affect their car design. All
participants will take home their car and extra challenges to continue
the exploration with their families. (This is a child drop-off
program. Registration and workshop fee required. $10 per child for CMC
members; $15 per child non-members.)
BAM! Bodies & Minds: Money, My
Community & Me (presented
through
the generous support of A.G. Edwards) ~ 1:00
p.m. ~ BAM is a family program that incorporates games, crafts,
songs and movement to promote healthy lifestyles. Having trouble getting
your child to eat vegetables or wash his/her hands? Join us for BAM to
learn kid-friendly tips, practice healthy habits and enjoy time as a
family! Each BAM session will focus on a different healthy habit -
brushing your teeth, making healthy choices, developing a bedtime
routine. Join us for all or just one of the sessions to stretch your
body and your mind.
Open Art Studio ~ 3:00 p.m. ~
Explore textures, colors and different ways to make art. Projects may
include painting, collage, sculpture, stencils and more!
