I Feel

I Feel: Understanding Emotions Together is based on The Way I Feel Book Series written by Cornelia Maude Spelman.  The exhibit fulfills an important need in the community by helping young children recognize and cope with their feelings, and by helping parents and caregivers better understand the inner emotional life of children. By initiating parent-child dialogue about feelings, this exhibit helps parents and children develop a vocabulary to identify, describe, understand and manage their emotions. Professional educators can use this exhibit to generate discussion to facilitate this learning process.

Illustrations from the books, including: When I Feel Angry, When I Feel Sad, When I Feel Good About Myself, When I Care About Others, When I Miss You, When I Feel Jealous, When I Feel Scared, and When I Am Worried are enlarged into visually stunning and informative, resource-filled panels. Corresponding real life play environments, complete with imaginative props, will promote costume, physical and object play, all encouraging the caregiver and child to act out their version of the particular scenario.

TARGET AUDIENCE: Educational activities are designed for children ages 2 to 8 years.

RENTAL DETAILS: A minimum of 2,000 square feet of exhibit space is required; the exhibit can be installed in expanded configurations for larger galleries. Rental fees are $18,000 for three months; in-bound shipping additional.
