A Museum Without Walls for Now: While we are working on the renovation of our future home, we will continue to bring entertaining and educational experiences to your children. Join us for Museum Without Walls!

Starting in January, 2016 you’ll find us at neighborhood libraries, other cultural institutions and regional events throughout 2016. We’ll bring to you programs and experiences that your children will love as they learn through play. Check our website for a schedule of our Museum Without Walls programs as soon as it becomes available. We’ll keep adding locations throughout the region as the year goes on.

Our Future Museum: Located on Euclid Avenue between E. 36th and E. 40th streets in Midtown, our future home will feature 12,000 square feet of brightly-lit exhibit spaces designed to develop 21st century skills: creativity, problem solving, communication and collaboration. It is a fully-accessible building and offers three times the number of free, public parking spaces as our current location as well as convenient access from I-90.

The $9 million renovation of the historic Stager-Beckwith Mansion in Midtown will include construction of the following exhibits:

  • Adventure City: The historic home’s ballroom will incorporate the essence of outdoor play in this lively city, allowing children opportunities to dream, build, and climb in this adventure-filled zone.
  • Wonder Lab: The former commercial kitchen will be transformed into a lab where children will become scientists as they explore with water, experiment with air and create with magnets.
  • Arts & Parts: Art and science meet as children create, construct and tinker in this art sudio and maker space.
  • The Meadow: Specifically designed for the Museum’s youngest learners (birth to 3 years), infants, toddlers and new walkers will have a sensory rich space to explore the world around them.

New visitor amenities in our future museum will include:

  • a larger dining area
  • four dedicated rooms for parties and children’s events
  • additional restrooms
  • a larger gift shop

Follow Us/Find Us: Make sure you’re connected to the Museum so we can let you know where we’ll be each month with our Museum Without Walls programs.
