POSITION #3
Position
Title: Summer Camp Curricula Writer
Reports to:

Internship Description:
The Children’s Museum of Cleveland will offer 8 summer enrichment camps
beginning the week of June 16, 2008. Each camp is designed for a maximum
number of 20 multi-age children: 4, 5, and 6 years. Camps are 4 hours a
day and will include multi-disciplinary activities based around
pre-chosen themes. The Museums exhibits will be incorporated into the
curricula along with outdoor play opportunities. All curricula will be
aligned with Ohio Early Learning Content Standards.
The intern does
not have to write at The Children’s Museum of Cleveland. However, access
to a reliable email account and regular meetings at the Museum will be
required.
Requirements:

Experience writing early childhood curricula

POSITION #5
Position
Title: Development/Administrative Intern

Job Description
(This job description is not
all-inclusive to allow for flexibility
based on organizational needs and
an intern’s talents and schedule.)
General: ASSIST, with
supervision, the Executive Director, Development Manager, Director of
Museum Operations, and Guest Services Manager with various projects as
needed. THIS IS A NON-PAYING INTERN POSITION.
Supervision: The primary supervisor
who will oversee this intern position will be the Development Manager.
The intern will be supervised on specific assignments by other staff
managers as required or needed.
Duties Include:

Membership/Donor Mailings (merge/mail,
stuffing envelopes, post card announcements, etc.) – including
getting mailings ready for delivery to the post office – (includes
membership acquisition mailings, annual fund mailings)
-
Records Management (filing) as needed.
-
Marketing/Public Relations assistance
(mailing and/or e-mailing press releases, media alerts, educational
programming mailings, new exhibit announcements, etc.)
-
Research and post information to
on-line media outlets.
-
Basic general
acknowledgements/follow-ups for contributions, cultivation and other
events, etc. (large and small mailings)
-
Packaging/mailing brochures and other
information to other venues in the Cleveland area.
-
Fulfilling donation requests.
-
Basic informational research (on-line
or by phone) as needed.
-
Maintain information rack in the museum
lobby with updated information for the general public.
-
Updating and/or consolidating any
database lists as required or needed.
-
Copying, distribution of materials
and/or basic reports.
-
Provide input on the creation of
informational flyers, etc.
-
Other Duties – as needed and required.
-
All internships require a beginning and
ending date to schedule a review. A review is required for the
benefit of both the intern and CMC. Internships can be extended.
-
There is some built-in flexibility with
respect to hours. Although an internship is non-paying, it provides
valuable experience.
-
CMC expects an intern to treat their
volunteer internship opportunity as they would a regular job, which
will accommodate the assignment of duties and deadlines.
-
If this internship will provide the
intern with extra “work/study” credits, CMC will be able to
accommodate that requirement. Please provide all information,
